Sam will be going to SMU this fall, which means we’ll be moving to Dallas.

I am very very sad not to be joining all my friends and family in VA, but in the end, SMU’s superior job placement statistics won.  Unfortunately, there are just so very many great law schools in Virginia that it is a very competitive place to find a job.  I really wanted to move to DC, but Sam didn’t get any scholarships there, and sticker-price law tuition + cost of living there would have resulted in pretty crippling debt.

There are plenty of important people in TX, of course, and life definitely seems easier here, so all the East Coast people will just have to come visit me.  Or, even better, I’ll visit you in all of the pretty places where you live.
